South Africa Consumable Requirements

Share:

There are a total of 6 consumable items required for jobs in Districts 1-3 and the Bonus District. Consumables can only be made by doing the jobs that produce them. Players who want to conserve energy know it’s best to farm on the Bronze level because the energy requirements are less. Below is an guide on the consumables of South Africa. Knowing how many you need and how to reduce the requirements will aid in progression of this difficult destination.

consumables
South Africa differs from other destinations in that there are more jobs requiring consumables. It seems you see one of these popups almost every time you click something. The good news is that there aren’t any jobs which require more than one consumable per click. The bad news is the energy costs of farming are steep.
consumables2
Each district requires 2 different consumables and contains 1 job that makes them and various jobs that require them. The required consumables for each district and the that produce them are shown below. A comparison of the Bronze and Ruby levels demonstrates the importance of farming on the Bronze level. Since the energy requirements are based on level, you will need to check your own account to see how much energy per job is required. The examples below are from the same account.

Now that you know which consumables are required, it’s time to see how many are needed. To get the numbers, the % mastery of each job is needed. Divide that into 100 and round up to get the total number needed per job. Add up each job and multiply it by 4 for the totals. The Bonus District contains 1 job requiring each consumable and that is reflected in the grand total. If you plan on ignoring the Bonus District or are going to put it off until later, the totals are separated in the second to the last rows.

If you want to reduce the required number of consumables, you can use your South Africa Crew Bonuses strategically. Activate the Strategist Bonus to double the mastery and it’s like getting in 2 jobs for the price of 1 consumable.  Use the Lockpick Bonus when farming to get 2 consumables instead of 1 when they drop. Each bonus is good for 20 jobs and can be used once every 8 hours. The Lockpick Bonus won’t play a big factor in getting more consumables because the drop rate is only 30%. 30% of 20 is only 6 but with the steep energy requirements, every little bit helps.

2X Mastery Boosts are also helpful if used on jobs that require consumables. If used while the Strategist Bonus is active you can get 3X the mastery per click and will further reduce the number of consumables needed. In other destinations, 2X Mastery Boosts only apply to the Bronze, Silver and Gold levels. They don't work on the Ruby levels for Districts 1-3 in South Africa but do on the Ruby level of the Bonus District.
You can get them from the opening up Mystery Boosts, from the Daily take or making news feed requests. For more details on how to get 2X Mastery Boosts, go here.
Asking your mafia to help you with jobs can further reduce the number of consumables required. You can ask for help once per day and get about 30% mastery for your efforts. When the “Ask” button is highlighted next to a job, you are eligible to get help. Make sure you do this on jobs which have a consumable icon next to the energy requirement. Click the “Ask” button to generate the request.

Once 10 players have clicked on your request, return to the job page to see your progress. Each player that clicks on your requests contributes one half of the mastery required for the job. The job I asked for help with pays out 12% mastery per click. The 10 helpers mastered 60% of the job and I didn’t need to use any energy or consumables. It’s best to ask on jobs that have 0% mastery because you won’t always get the maximum amount. If the job is close to being mastered or the mastery from help will bring it to 100%, it stops rewarding mastery for clicks. Go here for more details on how Job Help Requests work.

The last thing you can do to get consumable without spending energy is to make them from your R&D Lab. This won’t be a big help because the property is capped at Level 4 and if you get there you can only make 2 consumables every 18 hours. The property doesn’t unlock until you finish the 1st job in District for more information on the R&D Lab, go here.

To track your consumables without having to go to the inventory page just look on the top of the page. This is a special feature added to the Spockholm Mafia Toolbar so you will need to have that installed. To refresh the count, just click the swirly arrow. Not farming more than you need will save you energy so it’s important to always have an idea of your totals.

  3. if you have 2x mastery boost from mystery boost gifts it stacks with crew 2x mastery meaning its 4x so if job has 10% mastery per click u get 40% really really helps

    1. Thank you, I totally forgot about those. I have updated this post to include that information.

  4. Thanks for the information. It's a huge help. It may be a waste of energy but I'm going to farm a few extra at bronze just in case they do what they did in Vegas and use consumables from the early districts for the ones that come out later.

  5. I don't know what is happening in other accounts and districts. I am currently farming consumables for 1st district and 2 first jobs in bonus district.

Actually I am done with Kubas but Gevaa-Wrists are pain in the ass. The drop rate is way lower than Kubas and I don't know if this will happen in the other 2 districts. The second consumable having lower drop rate than the 1st one.

Also Jen I want to ask you about the 2x Mastery Boosts. The game uses them only in jobs that I haven't finished yet, right? Is there any way to use them only in jobs requiring consumables? I mean like fight boosts which can be turned on/off.

    1. There is no way to control when they are used so if you have them, you need to do the consumable jobs if you want them to apply. They are automatically used on any unmastered job you do. They only work on the bronze, silver and gold levels.

    2. Ok thank you Jen! I just read about the Meester Z option in assassin-a-nator! Great news!

  7. Re asking for help - I ask on the bonus jobs, as when it completes you move up to the next tier - You do not need to complete all other bonus jobs first. I am currently on Gold of the first job and have only done it 3 or 4 times myself

  8. how many of each consumable do you need to completely ruby master the first district? is it 252 kuba caps as you have first picture or is it a 116/136 you have further down on the page? Slightly confused by the lack of clarity????

    1. 116 + 136 = 252

    2. The first is how many for the district, the second is how many for the Bonus District. The total is these two combined.

  9. MY QUESTION IS DOESN'T THE % COMPLETION DROP AS YOU GET TO HIGHER LEVELS? iF SO THEN THESE NUMBERS ARE WRONG AS ALL THEY DID WAS MULTIPLY HE NUMBER NEEDED FOR LEVEL x4

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Nope, the %mastery stays the same for all levels.

    2. Thank you. Point of interest tho, when doing a job with a 2x mastery boost and a strategist in crew it only increases the % completion x3 not x4.

      Delete
    3. That is mentioned in the post. It's not x4 because the boost is x2 and the strategist is x2. Each one only doubles the original not each other so the net result is x3.

  10. None of the posts on South Africa seem to address the money issue. Where to get the best ratio's and such. Somehow it is easy for someone to rob me while I am working the jobs and auto banking isn't working, but I never seem to collect any money from others when fighting. Accumulating the cash to work the jobs to obtain consumables has been my main problem.

  11. any updated for district 4 to 6...?

  12. Pool Boy,
Fighting is always the fastest way to get money in a new district, especially if the banking is restricted. Farmers especially have lots of cash just waiting to be stolen. I got 100's of thousands in the first few weeks. I have a full 100k bank and Millions in MrZ's etc.
