UPDATE: There seems to be some confusion over this post. Players will remain in your Top Mafia until the day you click on the remove mafia who aren't Facebook friends link in game or via the Mafia Manager. Also any player who has a Top Mafia bonus will do. The only benefit to adding strong players into your Top Mafia positions is when dealing with wars. The stronger your players, the more clicks it will take to knock out your mafia.
About 3 weeks ago, Mafia Wars lost one of it’s greatest players. Many adored The Swede and those lucky enough to have in their mafias most likely promoted him to a Top Mafia position. If are one of these people and remove players from your mafia who are no longer your Facebook friends, you may want to check your Top Mafia positions because The Swede will be gone. If a player deactivates their Facebook account, they are no longer recognized as a friend and will be removed from your mafia.
If you check out the Mafia Tornado list of players, it’s sad to see that The Swede isn’t the only one who has decided to leave the game [1]. Deactivated accounts are now common amongst the top players, including Amit who is ranked #1 for defense equipment scores.

lol, why do people think it makes a difference who is in your TM?
ReplyDeleteas long as they give the max bonus for the position you put them in, that is all you need.
Jack was a friend of mine for a long time and we were on speaking terms.
however I wasn't naive enough to think there was any benefit from putting him in my TM.
I supposed people think they are high status when they have The Swede in their TM.
I only put close friends in my TM, as a sign of friendship and respect to the players that are closest to me.
I hope Jack comes back though, it's not the same without him, but as we know so many have quit the game for various reasons, and I guess that doesn't exclude some of the best ones too.
Actually there is a small benefit in having strong players in your top mafia. It takes more hits to knock out your top mafia in wars. For those who care about wars, it would be wise to put your strongest players in these spots. Otherwise you are correct that it doesn't matter as long as they have the max bonus which most active players do.

DeleteYou may not care but I know a lot who do. They don't like to lose. I wasn't the one that started talking about it. Was just explaining that to some there is a strategic reason to have the strongest in their top mafia.

Deletebut it is not always the case that you lose to the strongest players.
try doing some wars manually with your main account and with you mini accounts.
zynga seems to have it graded on a curve or something, and many time I can win with my mini account against strong players.
I can do the same war with main account and mini account... hit a player and win with my mini account, then later war the same target and hit it with my main account and lose.
of course it's a load of bs but that is zynga.
plus there is the fact the wars go so damn quickly for most players, that any advantage you may have in you TM is moot and really plays no factor.

ReplyDeleteVery true, that's just the theory as to why some do that. Most of the time it will help but there is a random luck factor in the war equation and because of that we can lose to hired guns.
DeleteHe is still in my top mafia.. Swede was 1 of the 1st 200 person i added to my mafia wars. I remember the time when Everyone need to tap him and to be able to join RYFG. he was among the first who reached level 25 000 cap for very long time ( finger to Zynga who did not give them level for more than 2-3 years) . Great Memories. Screwed Zynga who don't some real challenge in the game.
