To beat The Raven, you need many Rains of Pain. This ammo item is annoying because it only drops from robbing. Robbing is painfully slow and users have to make a decision to stop their chosen path of game play and rob or just let The Raven go. There is a little trick you can use to pick up some fast Rains of Pain. It’s not enough to get you through a fight but it will decrease the time it takes to farm 50 of them which is the maximum holding capacity. To learn the tick, follow the instructions below.
***This will only work when The Raven banner is present on your Home Page***
1. Go to the Brazil, Chicago or London Robbing Page and activate the Scout Crew Bonus. This bonus will get you 3X the rewards for 3 Robbing Boards. Some players encounter a bug in which this bonus only lasts for 2 Robbing Boards. To avoid this, make sure you only activate the bonus from the Robbing Page and not the Fight or Job Page.
2. Use a Rob Squad or rob each property on the board. Some Rains of Pain should drop. Do this 3 times. Each Rain of Pain that drops will be multiplied by 3.
To verify that this works, I checked my inventory before and after looting a Rain of Pain. You can see from the results, I got 3 of them.
4. Repeat steps 1 and 2 in all three destinations that offer a Scout Bonus and you will be surprised at the number of Rains of Pain you pick up. As stated above, it's not enough of them to get you through the fight but it makes farming them a little faster.
If you want to continue to farm Rains of Pain, we recommend you rob in New York. You should only rob in the other destinations when you have the Scout Bonus activated. You can see from the comparisons that the stamina/experience ratio is much better in New York and in this case so was the Rain of Pain drop rate. The drop rate is very random and could be better for some in a different destination but that doesn’t compensate for the poor ratio.
Thanks to all the players who told me about this after The Raven was re-released. I took me a while to verify it and I apologize for not remembering names.
